About this check

What the tool checks

The check searches our own, growing corpus automatically. Sources enter it only after control, permission or an applicable licence is recorded and their published crawl rules are respected. Results are bounded evidence from that corpus, not a claim about the entire web.

How this check works

The submitted text is normalised and its exact word sequences are compared automatically with fingerprints in the verified corpus.
The closest documents are checked in detail, overlapping evidence is merged into readable passages, and coverage is calculated from the query words covered by confirmed matches.
You may add up to six known public pages for the same bounded comparison. Exact Google and Bing searches remain a supplementary manual check rather than the primary result.

What this check cannot establish on its own

Coverage applies only to the sources and corpus date shown in the report. New, private, excluded or unavailable pages may be absent.
Exact matching may miss paraphrases, translations and heavily edited text. A match does not establish authorship or infringement; quotations, licences and context require human review.

Data sources

The first-party verified corpus: source URLs, crawl records and text fingerprints from sources with recorded control, permission or an applicable licence. Full third-party HTML and article text are not retained in the index.
Any supplementary public URLs explicitly supplied by the user for the current check.
